Back In Time for 3:44

People that are close to me know that I'm very weak in front of music... Listening this song reminded me about the happy times spent in Central Asia... No, not because it's something special, but because it's bringing back the wonderful moments I have spent in this country.
Rahmat, Kyrgyzstan for swinging my smiles and my tears... and for being my home for one year.

Which one of KG AIESECers are in Bishkek ???

Good day dear AIESECers of Kyrgyzstan !!!

I would like to ask for HELP from you,

some weeks ago I`ve got an e-mail from Slovakia. There was a request of a Slovakian volunteer, who is coming to KG for 3 months(from September till to December). She is looking for a rent flat(квартира) in Bishkek or sharing flat is also available. If you know any international-exchange students in Bishkek, who can help with it please let me know. The problem is, I`m far from KG, moved to Moscow, can`t help in this situation.

Actually, I don`t know her, even didn`t see her before. In fact, she found me from AIESEC in Kyrgyzstan, one of her friends advised the AIESECers...
So, here we are Guys :) Long Live AIESECers :)!!!

She speaks English, slovakian and learning Russian. As possible, I`m trying to help her by giving information about KG(culture, tradition, life style, etc.)

Uliana, I think you are allready in Bishkek, (was it boring in Sheremetyevo airport?:)... I offer you to help me, cuz I`m not sure who is there or not...

please, if you know sth about rentings e-mail me to newkgz@gmail.com

sincerely your Abbas

best regards from Moscow (it`s cold, I put on my winter coat;)

The epitome of awesomness!

Haha, guyssss! This blog is pretty dead indeed, but this doesn't mean that we dont stop by from time to time! For example, I have my own blog with my own boring posts! As we don't have too many people in Exchange right now, it's normal that no1 is posting here, since that's its purpose!!!

I will try to advertise it as much as possible, same working on sending as many people to Exchange program! I have my Good Bye party this Friday, so you are all invited! :0) For details, stay close!

HI, everyone!!!

Hi, guys!!!

Sorry, Abbas, for disappearing from blog, but i'm very disappointed that nobody else is writing here. It seems like AIESEC KG has no news and activities happening to share with us. Well, very sad...

Anyway, I think I should write about me here and tell you my story of Kyrgyz trainee.

After unlucky internship in Bulgaria, which was canceled in three months after our arrival, I had to plan something very fast and I decided to go for my second internship, so, I applied for one in Norway and i got it!!!

It was not so easy to get funds for ticket and my first month of living in one of the most expensive countries in the world, but thanks to my friends who help me that time.

Now I'm living in Oslo, Norway. It was hard time adapting to the cold weather, new people, new culture and everything, but I think I survived))). I feel OK and I need to say that I'm happy.

I'm happy because now I have an internship of my dream. I'm working in Opera Software ASA as Distribution Associate for Russia, doing a lot of work to expand Opera market in Russia.

Few words about atmosphere in the company. It's just great. I have flexible work hours, free delicious lunches every day, Friday beers (also free), more that 40 nationalities working with me, which makes my work very exciting, I learn new things and making new friends every day!

My work is related with sales, marketing, a lot of PR stuff, everything I like. We are working in teams, organizing events, contacting media people, planning activities, brainstorming ideas... It's so enjoyable and easy to work in friendly environment we have in Opera.

I have a lot of friends from AIESEC in Oslo and we organize many parties, picnics, trips and sightseeings. I never feel bored or alone here, because AIESEC people are very helpful here.

As for Kyrgyzstan, of course I miss you all and my country very much, i have a terrible homesick sometimes, but I'm trying to be strong and I know that I'm still happy to be in Norway and work for Opera. As my internship is for one year I'm supposed to go back to KG in March 2008.

For anyone who has more questions about the internships, homesick stuff, AIESEC abroad, etc. feel free to contact me here though comments or AIESEC KG, they'll provide my email address.

My English blog is here : http://my.opera.com/kumenova/

Good luck with internships and have a nice week!

- Uliana

Update information

Hi guys!!

It is finally time to tell you about the changes that happened with us in Bulgaria.

First, our intership in Bulgaria is canceled! yeah, shit happens! It seems the company has financial problems and the decided to close the office in Bansko and end our internship earlier.

At the first time it was a big shock, we were very upset but than we understood that it is even better for us. So, according to Aiesec rules hosting Aiesec should find another internship within 1 month and provide with the accommodation for this time. The company should pay the fees if they cancel internship before the appointed time. In our case they paid us 1/3 of our plane tickets. not perfect but at least something...

So Uliana managed to find internship in Opera software company in Norway and she is already there. The AIESEC in Norway is very strong and the company cares a lot about their trainees
She really enjoys her internship and at last she got what she expected from AIESEC internship.

About me... Well, I am applying for consulting company in Dubai and waiting for the results. Don't know anything yet. If the company doesn't take me then I am back to Bishkek in April. Uliana advises me to apply also for Opera in Norway, we'll see the results ... On the one hand I am upset, but from the other hand I am glad that don't need to stay here alone till June and come back to Bishkek earlier. Besides, anyway'we ve got international experience from a big brand company which is good for CV and able to travel a lot. I am planning now to go to black sea cost of Bugaria and to Greece in the beginnning of April.

So. now u know that you should expect any outcome from your internship and be prepared for it. also, the good point is that hosting AIESEC helped us to fill new EP form and be able to search for another internship.

Yeah and some tips in the end:

1. Sign your contract straight in the beginning of your internship. If anything happened you will always confirm that people are responsible for your internship.

2. Please ask hosting AIESEC to check if the working conditions provided in TN are at your future job. For instance, here we didn't have personal computer and internet and even personal working space. we had to take our laptops with us.

3. ask how many trainees the company had before you. It is better if you are not the first one so they already know what to do with you.

OK, this is all for this moment. if you have questions, please ask

tips for internship

Hi everbody. I would like to give you some advices when you are searching for the internships.

1. read carefully TNs, especially company and job description.

2. check well if the salary they are going to pay you is really enough for your living.

3. ASK, ASK and ASK. ask TN manager or company representative lots of questions interesting you before you are making any internship.

For instance, when i read TN, it was written that i will work in Re/max. it was written that the local company merged with remax that assumes that remax bought this local company. Here i found out that the local office here is just a FRANCHISE of remax. those who study business administration understand what i am talking about if you not, then please ask people or sources who can explain it to you. the point is that it is not branch office but just the right to perform under this name. It means that the administration of office is not US original but local therefire if you want to experience company management in US style it's not the case.... It doesn't mean that somebody cheated me, no, it means that i didn't check this information well i just even didn'think that it can be a francise...

secondly, i though but i didn't ASK that it is a big office with lots of employees and big organization. In real, the office in VT is about 10 people and here in Bansko 5 with us!!... :(

about the salary, it's enough if you do not buy clothes and eat very simply and go for a beer twice a month.. in all other cases.... you have to find the alternative sources of money. Especially in the beginning you will have to buy lots of things for your home, especially if you are girl... For instance, we had to buy with Uliana heater, blankets, curtain for shower, slippers, bowl for washing the clothes, powder, Domestos, and.......... the list is a big, believe me!

Therefore take some amonut of money with you enough for the first time and if your parents can support you with money afterwards if needed that can be also very good!

that's why i really suggest you to check all information that it written in TN and rely on not on your impression but facts. For example you can also request the CV of your company manager, organization chart, code of ethics and etc that can provide you information about the company.

anyway, we are still positive and we undersand that we are the first that's why we will face the mistakes and obstacles but can advise you not to repeat them.;))

some news

Hi everybody!

how r u doing? what news? We are now working in Bansko in the bulgarian ski resort. The conditions heare are better that's why we are glad to work here. We were provided with very nice apartment and we have more freedom foo oru actions. For example we are developing marketing materials and will realize them soon ourselves. Everything is agreed with owner of the company and he gives us lots of tips how to promote the real estate. So it is good that we receive a lot of useful information and have an opportunity to realize it in practice. Also we meet here lots of foreigners form UK and Ireland and from Russia as well. So it's great to speask the native language with customers!! And furthermore we have an opportunity to travel to Europe or across Bulgaria after internship so we are saving the money right now.. By the way, nex time we go to Veliko Tarnovo, we have the Kyrgyz Party! that's right we will present our country and have some fun :))
In themeantime please consider some pictures from Bansko and our work.

AIESECE life

HI!! Let me wish all of you happy new year!! I just wanted to tell how we are spending time here. First, we attend AIESEC meetings here. The structure is the same as in KG, new recruiters tell about progress of their PBox projects but after the meeting they go to drink a beer. Hey, maybe we should also introduce this tradition in Kirgizstan?? Then we have some AIESEC parties regularly recently had christmas party in our aparment. You can see on our pictures how it was!!!

Now about the internship. It is ok, we are working not under the pressure and waiting for our aparture to Bansko ski resort for working. By the way, our boss is former LCP of Veliko Tarnovo, can you imagine it??? And the trainer of training which was provided to us in Sofia, the owner of all regional REMAX in Bulgaria from Austria was also AIESECer!!! So, guys big men are grown from AIESEC experience!! Christian, it's his name, told us that he still remebers his days in AESEC and dark circles under his eyes after the parties he also told us that would come to AIESEC office in VT in february!! So AIESECers stay committed to their organization all life long!! ;)

Also we went to Aiesec conference and danced AIESEC dances here! Common, guys, it turned out to be so cool to dance them with a big company!! Go ahead, learn them and we will dance together when we are back!

For new year we are staying in the town as there in no enough time for us to go to Macedonia with all Aiesecers as we couldn't make the residential permit. So tomorrow we are cooking olivie and drinkig shampain and in the night we'll go to dance club ORGANZA which holds 3 room: chaga (bulgarian pop-folk), house and commercial and is much better equiped that ours in Bishkek and young people hanging out here more crazzy!!!

By the way, why only we make posts on this blog?? Hey, it is our common filed to share news and feelings. Lumi, maybe yoou write about your parties, progress or other news?? Please feel free everyone to write here messages or comments.

WOW! I feel excited!

Hello, everyone. It's my turn to write here i guess))).

Ok, we recently came back to VT (Veliko Turnovo) from Sofia. We had a great RE/MAX party there. (On the pic: Interns with bosses on the party).

Honestly, I didn't like Sofia so much as I like VT now. I hope I'll visit more beatiful places here in Bulgaria. And we're also thinking about Greece. These are only plans now.

As for now, we are going to have ano
ther RE/MAX party this wednesday! And Shtelyan (our boss) wants to take us to Bansko on Thursday. Bankso is a ski resort where are planning to work after New Year.

We finally started working and now doing some research stuff for the whole day in order to prepare brochure and presentation for investors in the result. It's a very useful work I think, which should help us to sell a big building (currently under construction).

It's getting very cold here. So, we need to buy more warm clothes to survive))).

The mexican girl Tania, which is living with us, is very nice and we spend all days together....working, shopping, laughing, cooking etc... We speaks really good English, so, sometimes we learn smth new from her. We also have English man in RE/MAX and have an opportunity to practice our English and learn new words when none of us knows them in English))). (On the pic: I'm in the old part of VT).

And... of cource, these bulgarian men surprise me every day))). They clean, cook and never think it's not for them... They seem to be perfect.)))

GOOD NEWS!!!! Our LCP in VT - Atanas Genkov (Nasko) - became MCP today!!!!! Yeaaahhhh!!! (We already prepared balloons) VT rules))). We are in the right place and in the right time!)) We are so happy, because he's really a great person, who's living with AIESEC in his heart. I'm sure, he'll be the best MCP in the Bulgaria's history.

We also have been on the AIESEC party and learned internationl AIESEC dances!!! So, wait for us, will dance together, because it's a big fun!!!))).

Ok, guys!!! Hope you enjoy staying with AIESEC and coming holidays!!!

Merry Christmas, AIESECers!!!

we are making internship FINALLY

Hi everybody!!!!!!!!! let me convey you the warmest greetings from Bulgaria!!!!! IT is just so cooll to be here!!!! Alhough we had some problems with getting here (our flight was delayed from Bishkek to Istanbul then our fligh to Sofia was delayed for 4 hours because of fog and then was canceled in the end. herefore we had to take bus from Istanbul to Sofia and from Sofia to Veliko Tarnovo again we took the bus...), we are so happy to be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, first about the internship! it sounds to be very interesting as we have lots of tasks, trainings and travelings. For ex tomorrow we are going to Sofia for trinings in he morning and in the evening we have a company CHristmas party!!! then the next week we have again company Christmas company but this time like the local one in Veliko Tarnovo and after the new year we are going to Bansko city on the south of Bulgaria. There is ski resort there and we will promote local real estate. Indeed the company is great it is fastly growing and dominating on the real estate market and here it is also like number one. We had press conference on the meeting where we were oficially introduced to mass media! :)

Now about the people!!!! ohhh they are amazing!!!!!! They are kind, open and friendly, eager to help. our LCP Nasko he is such a great guy - very caring and kindhearted! There are no such men in Kyrgyzstan unfortunately who prepares for u tea, fixes wash-bowl and switching on the air conditioner before your coming in order you are not feeling cold.. it's so cute!!!!

AIESEC Veliko Tarnovo is well organized we were at the general meeting and it was interesting. At the meeting we conveyed everybody the greetings from Aiesec KG and they applaused you and asked us to convey their greeetings back to you! :) but the main aspect that i like that LC here is really friendly and that they have always conferences, parties, they go together to clubs, pubs, karaoke so the student life is very interesting here but...... they do not study so much because they have a choice to do it... and on friday evenign we have aiesec party, on saturday it is study tour for us about the city and in the evening we go to the disco club..... Besides, we are living in the so-called "Aiesec apartment " so everyday our apartment is crowded with Aiesec members, they drink beer, play cards, chatting, watching movies, eating together and so on... So please everbody applies for aiesec internship, u wil have so much fun and enjoyable time!!

now about the city... Veiko turnovo is an acient capital of Bulgaria so it is very historical and for sure very very beautiful!!!!!!! there are many churches, museums and bridges and there is royal fortress near our office which looks magnificient but we will be inside it only on Saturday.

so we will kep in touch with u later and please follow the blofg and put some comments!!!
